Je suis un monstre qui vous parle
Paul B. Preciado
In November 2019, Paul B. Preciado addressed 3,500 psychoanalysts in Paris, drawing on Kafka’s A Report to an Academy. Grasset published the speech in June 2020 with the subtitle Rapport pour une académie de psychanalystes.
Why it belongs here
For reading the speech in full. Grasset explains that inaccurate fragments had circulated online and that the book provides the complete text. It is a published address, not a practical manual.
Before choosing
The author addresses a profession that had classified him in medical terms. Read it alongside Un appartement sur Uranus for columns by the same writer, or Disclosure for a documentary about representations of trans people on screen.
